Lowe Alpine Ophir M1 60 Backpack

The Lowe Alpine Ophir M/1 60 Backpack is a comfortable, internal frame backpack ideal for short to medium trips. Large compartments make packing easy, but it can be difficult to access things without unloading other items to get to them. A wealth of straps, carabineer attachments, and elastic bands make it easy to attach extra items on the outside. The Ophir is an excellent backpack for a beginning or casual backpacker.

Elastic straps on the back make it easy to attach a jacket or coat for easy access. The pockets on either side of the backpack are ideal for water bottles, snacks, and other small items or things that need to be accessed on the trail. The top pocket is also designed for small items, and the main compartment carries the tent, sleeping bag, pad, and other large items. There is a zipper on the bottom of the main compartment to provide easy access to things at the bottom, but it is still difficult to get things without unloading most of the compartment. The padded hip strap is comfortable, but does not tighten enough to accommodate some thin people.

The Lowe Alpine is an excellent backpack for a beginner or casual backpacker taking short trips. It is comfortable and easy to attach things to, but items at the bottom of the pockets are difficult to access. Padded hip and shoulder straps remain comfortable as long as the load does not become too heavy, although the hip strap can be too large for skinnier people.
